IN WHAT CAPACITY DO YOU KNOW THE NOMINEE : Info: As the Trustee and Administrator for Penrith & District Red Squirrel Group (PDRSG), which is a charity set up for the preservation and promotion of endangered Red Squirrels in the Eden Valley.
The person I have nominated deserves to be considered for an invitation to the Cumbria Women of the Year Lunch because: : Without Julies continued involvement with PRDRG the Eden Valley wouldn’t have any Red Squirrels. Julie’s determination, passion and ability to motivate and manage the Rangers in the group has ensured the survival of the Charity and thus the survival of the Red Squirrels in our area. She is an inspirational women who works behind the scenes tirelessly with no personal recognition just the satisfaction of knowing she is helping the endangered Red Squirrel hang onto a precarious presence in our area. In these times of human need, often nature can be overlooked, however, the joy and satisfaction people can obtain by engaging with nature should also be promoted as many mental health reports often state that spending time with nature is inertly good for our soul and what better way to introduce people to nature than via our little red furry friends. Julie works to ensure everyone in the Eden Valley both now and in the future will get the opportunity to do just that.
