YOUR NOMINATION ACHIEVEMENTS, PERSONALITY & SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE COMMUNITY & OVER WHAT PERIOD OF TIME? : Charlotte is a professional long-distance runner. She completed a Degree in America where she developed her running talents.She now lives in Wales and advises the Welsh team of runners and also competes at world class competitions all over the world. She has represented Great Britain at the World Half Marathon Championships. She was British Champion at the 10,000 meters in 2018. She has represented Great Britain numerous time in Cross Country races.She is presently World Champion of female Park Runs, having very recently shaved off a second off her previous world record. Not only does she train and race all over the world, but she is also an advocate for ordinary people to join Park Runs and enjoy sport generally. She is a great ambassador for the sport. She has gone out of her way to give tips to other runners on how to improve their performance. The person I have nominated deserves to be considered for an invitation to the Cumbria Women of the Year Lunch because: : Charlotte has shown enormous resilience and self- belief in pursuing a gruelling and demanding sport to a world class level. She was born and grew up in the Cumbrian countryside and started running and training in this area. Not only was she a British Champion in 2018, but she is presently World Champion of female Park Runners, and she has gone out of her way to offer advice and support to others, particularly those who join park runs and has encouraged the participation in sport generally. She has to travel internationally for her discipline, running and representing this country abroad in a tough and demanding sport, and has been very successful.
