Nomination Deborah Earl Address : 133 Edgehill Road Postcode : Ca1 3SA Telephone : 07738248247 Email : deborah_earl@hotmail.com Nominated By: Full Name : Sam Dutton Telephone : 07789606364 Email : samantha.dutton@icloud.com IN WHAT CAPACITY DO YOU KNOW THE NOMINEE : Deborah is my mum YOUR NOMINATION ACHIEVEMENTS, PERSONALITY & SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE COMMUNITY & OVER WHAT PERIOD OF TIME? : Deborah is probably known best for being the labour county councillor for harraby south but has also since became portfolio holder for public health and community services. Within this role she helps lots of people on a regular basis whether it be with personal problems or issues they are facing and will always strive to give her best help or advice. Not often does she let things get the better of her but is never happy until she can solve a problem. This has been pushed to the limits during the pandemic in a lot of different respects but one that shines through was when she was part of the voluntary team at the old hall cafe when they cooked and delivered over 7500 hot nutritious meals to the pupils of petteril bank school but with donations this soon extended to siblings and then also emergency food parcels to shielding families then during the second lockdown they ensured the isolated pensioners were involved too and still found the time to pick up and drop off shopping/prescriptions for those unable to get them. Amongst all this she was part of setting up the covid-19 support packages within Cumbria county council. Just when you think that wasn’t enough Deborah then took on a job of CEO with Carlisle key a homeless charity in Carlisle for 16-25 year olds and is running it superbly on top of all her other work with the county council. This takes up so much of her time running both jobs but she still manages to find the time to look after my children her 2 grandchildren and did right through the pandemic which meant I could go to work as a frontline NHS nurse working on the covid ward very selfless I’m sure you will agree. Overall I would just like to say my mam is the most generous kind and caring person I know, she would literally go to the end of the earth to help anyone. Nothing is ever too much trouble if I turn out to be half the woman my mum is then I’d be happy. I could never repay or thank her enough for what she has done for me and I’m sure a lot of people would agree but this nomination is someway towards showing how much I appreciate her. The person I have nominated deserves to be considered for an invitation to the Cumbria Women of the Year Lunch because: : How amazing she is at being my mum and the best grandma I could have ever wished for for my 2 children. Her help and support to Carlisle and beyond and voluntary work during the covid-19 pandemic. Her contribution to the county council and the cabinet for holding the portfolio for public health and communities. Her enthusiasm and dedication to not only her job at Carlisle Key but also to the Labour Party and pretty much everything she does.
