Kathleen Wise

Kathleen Wise started her charitable work in 1968 when she joined the Furness Mother’s Union, whose aims are to help the community and people whose lives have met with adversity. She was the first to volunteer for the Furness Victim Support Scheme with gives practical help and support to all victims, especially mothers and children. She has also helped to set up a creche facility in Haverigg Prison for the visitor’s children. As well as all the voluntary work she does, her home is always open to overseas students and families who want the opportunity to experience Lake District life.
