The Cumbria Life Lifetime Achievement Award this year, was presented to Patricia Turnbull, who has recently stepped down from her role as Chair of the Cumbria group of RABI (Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution) and has been in involved in many local charities throughout her life, raising funds – often through her exemplary culinary skills – for many charities including RABI, of course, Hospice at Home, and the Air Ambulance. It was stressed that Patricia’s kindness and generosity to neighbours and friends at times of distress were legion, and always “under the radar” never seeking personal kudos. This award recognises a lifetime of selflessness, and is richly deserved.
