Gillian Shields is a serving Police Officers who is working to reunite a previously troubled Carlisle community. She has launched new clubs, held fundraising activities and given her spare time to Newton School where she is a governor. She carries out a lot of her work in the Raffles area where she backed the 3.1 million community development partnership designed to bring the small community together. She established “The Sunrise Club” which provides children with a warm breakfast and drink before school to encourage a calm and productive working environment. She also holds crime prevention and safety lessons for children. Overall she has worked to build bridges within many troubled communities.
